Started in 2002 as Prabhu & Co. in a small garage as a trading unit. The cashews were sourced and traded to smaller merchants and other traders.
- In 2004-05, began the institutional supply to companies like Britannia, few traders in Chennai and also to the APMC yard in Yeshwanthpur. With all modesty, Mr Ganesh Prabhu, the founder and the proprietor of HMCP remembers how the trading began with supplying cashews on a bike which gradually expanded to supplying cashews to clients by car.
- It was in 2007, to address the increased requirement for pouch packing, quality certifications etc and to meet the client specifications, Ganesh Food products was formed with 20 workers in Bannerghatta. The checking and packing was manual and around 200kg of cashew was handled. It was in 2007, the large scale transporting vehicles were procured.
-In early 2010, the company, Hindusthan Muktha Cashew Processing Ltd. was established with automated machinery which has the capacity of handling more than 500 kg cashews per hour.
- With the improved machinery and efficiency along with implemented quality standards, HMCP began supplying cashews to Britannia, ITC, KMF, Amul and other prestigious companies along with smaller traders. 
- Today, we stand proudly with a workforce of 70 persons handling 270 tones of cashew every month, with automated, state of the art machinery like the IR heater, Colour Sorter, Cashew Sizer, Metal Detector, vacuum packaging unit housed in a well maintained, clean and hygienic facility.
